I'am new to working malinois, always had GSD but after breeding show horses for over 50 yrs and showing I really like to look at the mares pedigree, it may be differ in dogs but in horses the mare contrib: 80% of what the colt makes. But like I say may not work that way with dogs,  at this time I'am working a joefarm line and I like him.  But I've see my breeders are just looking at the males.  But I've breed some of the states best mares to the best studs. and there is no  100% that the colt will make a show horse. I think its alot like dogs it also in the trainer.

There is a Master son in Conn. named Juice that has also been used for a few breedings, so there are Master grandkids running around out there from him.  I think the oldest of the litters is coming up on a year soon.

It's an interesting pedigree, could be an interesting litter.  I don't know enough about the actual parents to give any input on what each of them brings to the table, or has produced in previous litters, but sounds like others in this thread can provide that information.

The thing about Master is, the owner put him with a top and I mean top level trainer, he must be a hard dog or Phil wouldn't want anything to do with him. On the other hand what has the guy who has him now done with him since Phil? I saw that he pulled from the AWDF Championships

First of all...did you see Master's performance at the AMWA championship? Stellar! Oh by the way....open mouth insert foot...Master was pulled so his owner could attend his own son's funeral. Don't talk about stuff you don't know about.

Don't expect and acknowledgement much less an apology from this guy.  He's kind of new to the breed and the sports of SchH, IPO and VPG and it appears is of the opinion that he has more than enough knowledge to surpass the rest of us and we are just swimming upstream.  My sympathies to Benny and his family.  (You know, the "guy" who has Master now.)

First I would like to send out my sincere condolences to Benny and his family.

On the other hand Phil Behun ( AKA Duderino) and this new person GinaBel need to have your reading comprehension checked, it was never meant as a slam to Benny it was phrased as a question, you see the question marks at the end of the sentence???? If not here is what they look like ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?  The other half is called a statement he did pull from the AWDF Championships. At that time I was not looking for a reason why; I don't specifically care why someone would pull, and in this particular situation it is truly unfortunate and sorrowful circumstances.

I am sure that he really appreciates the idiots that decided to spread the word of his loss on the internet, just in order to nag and bitch at someone for not knowing every detail of someone's personal life.

Again get your reading level checked and if that is impossible for you, read things out loud so you can get a better chance to comprehend what is actually expressed.

I may be new to Schutzhund, but English is my first language.

by ombresvaleureux on 19 April 2011 - 13:04

Just back from a 3 day Pet Expo with my Master son D'Only des Ombres Valeureux.  Long weekend of breed education and demos with Beauceron and Malinois in Costa Mesa.  D'Only was there with me all 3 days in the breed booth, dock diving and putting on protection demos.

I have used Master in my breeding program twice on the same female "Saida" and am impressed with the results.

The first breeding was a cooled semen A.I. inwhich FedEx delivered to the wrong address and then finally to my vet's office a day later <sigh>.  This breeding resulted in D'Only (a singleton pup or "lit").  I really cannot complain as for me, he's the best Malinois I've owned thus far in so many ways.  D'Only is now 2 years old (in Dec) and is OFA Hips Excellent, Elbows normal, CERF eyes, Cardiac normal for the health stuff.  Great bite quality and bites hard, clear headed, strong and dominant and fast.  Great hunt and retrieve and jumping.  Average size between 73-75lbs depending on the moment.  A real malinois and not just "sport".  Great with my other animals (horses, cats, sheep, dogs, chickens).  D'Only's page: http://www.pawsnclaws.us/D'Only_ped.htm  Also, I have quite a few videos of D'Only in training as a pup to about 1 year of age on youtube.  Just search " jaffrid D'Only " to find his vids.

The owners were nice enough to allow me a re-breeding and this time I flew Saida to Florida and met Master and his handler Phil Hoelcher at Phil's house for a natural breeding with Master.  This resulted in 5 puppies (2 females and 3 males), however at 5 weeks of age, the 2 largerst males sadly died of Parvo (I had taken D'Only to the vet to have a cut on his side stitched and brought it back to the pups tragically).  The surviving male Eko O.V. is in Kansas training in Schutzhund and owner reports doing very well and one female E'Bling I still co-own and is being trained by my friend's teenage son who is also a helper for their club (worked the regionals last month in AZ).  "Bling" is doing very, very well in training in all 3 phases (great tracker and running all blinds).  "Bling" hips are prelim'd normal and CERF eyes so far.  All health clearances will be done formally after turning 2 yrs.  The other female EGlitz O.V. is in a pet home (calm and stable but not enough drive).  She's the best looking of the 3 "of course" LOL.  The younger sibs will be 2 years old in June.  E'bling's Page: http://www.pawsnclaws.us/E'Bling_ped.htm and also the litter page: http://www.pawsnclaws.us/MasterSaida2009.htm

I should mention something about their mother "Saida" as for me the female is more important than the male one chooses.  She is a proven producer of working dogs and was bred with my Dexter, Belg Import and now FRIII with great success and also Dexter's son, Bexter O.V. with great results prior to being bred with Master.  I have liked what she produced everytime I've bred her using 3 different males.  Saida's Page: http://www.pawsnclaws.us/saida_ped.htm to see pixs of Saida and links to her offsprings pages.  To study the pedigrees, you can visit working-dog.eu

Due to Master's training and trialing schedule he was not always available for breeding or easy to breed to.  I was lucky that when I flew in we bred Saida two times at the right times and then Phil left the next day for a seminar.  This breeding timed out in the window that Master and Phil were at home.  He was never available to "all females", but rather approved females.  Since he's been back with his owner, he hasn't been standing at stud.  A lot of owners
