Description
Werkhonden Van Zandt is a small working K9 kennel located in northwest Washington. Our mission is to train and breed Dutch Shepherds and Malinois with the structure, drives, and nerves required to excel in demanding service roles.
Military - Police - Security - Detection - SAR - Dual Purpose - Personal Protection - High-Level Competition
Our dogs are all from non-FCI Dutch lines and exemplify the traits we appreciate in working canines. Beyond the high drive and athleticism that is expected from a Dutch Shepherd or Malinois, we seek dogs with robust structure, strong nerves, high tolerances, clear-headedness, confidence, fight drive, commitment, and most of all - dogs that bring power and heart to their work.
We work all of our dogs, giving us a greater understanding of their strengths and weaknesses which is important as we evolve our breeding program. While our dogs are capable of competitive sport, they have temperaments more suited for service work.
