KYLE

by KYLE on 17 December 2006 - 14:12

I was just looking at the results of recent BSP's. I noticed many studs with several progeny participating in BSP's. Any thoughts on the confirmation and size of the below listed proven studs? Asko von der Lutterhttp://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/50650.html Lasko WestfalensproB http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/124122.html Aron/Amigo Bracheler See http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/32237.html Lord vom Schwartenzwinger http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/121254.html Kyle

you can't go wrong with any of these fellas. all have produced well in both structure and ability. choose the female line wisely and you will definately have something to work with. best of luck.

Kyle, Lasko is the only one in the group that has anything to offer in terms of conformation. Like most working line dogs he is short and steep in the croup and upper arm and his movement is not ideal, but he has good substance, good proportions, excellent head, good body volume. I would consider him an improvement over the typical working line dogs that tend to be too lengthy, light of bone and musculature. Best wishes, jonah

jdh Don't know where you are looking at working dogs at but you just described a show dog!

The question was what anyone thinks of the conformation and size of the listed studs. I gave the pertinent commentary. Jonah

Your pertinent commentary is not correct. Anyone who has working dogs knows that most of them are large-boned, muscualar dogs. Most had bigger block heads and are shorter than alot of show dogs. I do agree that many have short steep croups and most do not have the movement of show dogs. Your remarks though on the length, light of bone and muscle are totally in error.

Have to agree with DR here. That did not sound much like a typical working line dog description. Another working line stud worth looking at is V Branko Vom Salztalblick. A V rated working line stud with progengy to prove himself. After all, how many times has the BSP and WUSV been won by the same dog in the same year? http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/334729.html

I would like to be clear that I am not insulting show type dogs at all. I have only owned one show line out of VA and V lines and I loved her. She was a great girl.
