I was wondering if anybody could tell me their experiances with this kennel. They look like they have some very nice dogs. Thanks in advance.

I have a 1 yr. old female out of their stud "Ham" who was VA 4 at the 2005 Seiger show. She was pick of litter but daughter lost interest and has not trained nor shown. This female is excellent and should get her V rating if shown. email desertrangers@netzero.net if interested..

Hello Mysti, Mittelwest has an excellent reputation and Julie is superb to work with. I bred 1 of my females to Flint and the litter was outstanding. Julie's very helpful and has vast knowledge of the breed. Mittelwest has had #1 Kennel Group for several years. I think they could help you find whatever you're looking for. What are you looking for? Pet or show quality, puppy or adult. I will be breeding my V rated female to either Yasko son or Rikkor son this summer, email me if interested. Thanks.

Why don't you personally GO to the kennel, meet the people, see the dogs, and ASK for references. Keep in mind that even if someone says a dog is "high quality" because it is out of "Outstanding VA lines" you would be a fool to pay more than $1500 for a pup. Jenni

Some how I think there needs to be a way the show dogs can have their pages and the working dogs can have theirs. Personally I'm not into the show dogs, and their seems to be a lot of working and show dogs all mixed in together. I think this site needs to seperate the two. (If that is possible)

Nice idea - I just wish people would quit breeding showlines period. Max von Stefanitz must be turning over in his grave with what has happened to his breed.

German Shepherd Dogs, they all are. Be grateful that you have the board to use at all, instead of asking for more. If Oli (or whoever is now running the website) makes a page for Show and Working lines, the next thing you know, people will be asking for every deviation in the breed (white, sable, black, American lines, German lines, I could go on and on!) I love the breed as a whole. There are outstanding working dogs, and there are excellent showline dogs. I enjoy being able to see them all here in one place. One thing I cannot stand are people who berate either line (show or working), for whatever reason. This type of behavior is destructive to the breed, and very childish. A German Shepherd Dog is a German Shepherd Dog, regardless of how it may look, work, or act, and despite what opinions people have or what breed standards may say. I may not like dogs that fall outside of the German Standard, but that does not mean that I have the right to say they should have their own page. This website is here. Utilize it, be happy for the use of it, and try not to make it into something it was never meant to be!

sweet pea, In this thread you seem to agree with K9chess about not mixing "show" and "working" lines and even go to the extent of "banning" the breeding of "show" lines all together. But a thread just below that (pink paper thread) you recommend to someone to get a dog that is a mix of both these lines.what do you believe in, really? I happen to own a "show" line dog that can compete with any "working" line dog, particularly in the protection phase. Those who know my dog can attest to this statement.I also happen to have enough background knowledge about genetics to argue that such seperation is hard to explain on a genetic basis for a breed that has a narrow genetic pool and has been around only since 1895.Harsh blanket statements like yours makes me unhappy.Life is not black and white as you may very well know. Best wishes.
