I have made inquiries about dogs I’ve been interested in through their requested method yet very rarely get responses. Is this happening to anyone else? Why list a dog in the classifieds if you aren’t going to answer serious inquiries? When I located a prospect I try to politely ask questions that they did not address in the classifieds. Thanks for any helpful input.

This is why, if I were wanting to buy a dog, I would not be responding to adverts on here. Sorry PDB / Oli, but I do not believe the internet (useful as it is in many ways for researching breeders) is the place to purchase a dog.
May as well turn to CraigsList or Champdogs.
Find out where breeders are that you can reach reasonably easily, via Clubs, asking on here etc, make contact with them, get to know them, check out their background, reputation and their websites, visit their stock, go on the waiting list for a pup. This way you establish rapport with them, and in conversation with them you will obtain answers to your questions. It is worth taking the time.

LOL, the things not mentioned in the ad, are the things they dont want to share, many sellers want no questions asked, money send and dog shipped, ask them if you can send someone over to have a look at the dog in person and do some testing LOL

It’s puzzling. 474 views and only 3 responses. Is there that much unconcern over this issue. Surely more than 3 people have had issues.
If you list a dog to sell then at least have the decency to address those asked questions.
I have been looking for a Puppy or young female GSD for IGP and can’t get responses from ads. What is up folks. Doesn’t anybody keep up with their posts and inquiries. This is frustrating for those of us who are potential buyers. If you post please answer inquiries, you are forcing us to go the different sites to look for dogs.

I think most of the longer time folks here totally agree with Hundmutters statement of:

Thus few others feel the need to speak up, as Hundmutter summed it up quite well in their opinion.

I believe that a lot of people have been screwed over the years by buying dogs they have never seen from people they should have avoided, thus, what Duke and Hund said.
In my opinion, unless I "know you", I will most likely not trust why you are selling a young adult that you supposedly held back and blah, blah...So, even if they answer your inquiry, do you believe what they tell you?
Consider that for a minute before continuing and I am aware that the best dog for you may not be located next door.
