i had a friend ,who's female was xrayed at 50 days and the vet told him she would have 4 puppys ,but when she went past due ,they did a c-section on her and they were all water babys ,what causes this to happen,...........

A vet that should not be reading xrays would be my first guess

JMHO X-rays should not be used on pregnant bitch. Ionizing radiation has been suspected to cause birth defects that may not show up for years. That is what ultrasound is for.
