I had a swimmom Mexican standoff up in the bleachers. This past weekend was the HS conference championships. I found myself pitted against one of the ultimate powerhouse team's, self-delegated lead mom who was encroaching on our, the host team for the event's reserved area. The whole team and the entire three towns that make their team are some of the most obnoxious, rude, overbearingly self-entitled people you can imagine. LOL
I have to decide yet, if I should be telling the "whole story". hehehe

Gouda,
Ye, of little faith! I can briefly zoom to the end and relieve you any misconceptions that I did not prevail to my satisfaction. I make that judgment because I did not need to be bailed out of jail. And in the end, I found it ironically typical, (and like I said, only some would get this telling detail, others not so much) that while half the people are under the impression I am insane, the other half regard me as a hero.

I hope that will suffice for the moment. I need to get back to bed! I have stuff to do later today and tonight, and this feeling like crap is causing conflicts on my abilities, at the wrong time!

What you have is what my wife started out with before ending up with pneumonia, so take care of yourself...

lol
Bee , just take a deep breath
Everywhere we turn today there is someone in Authority who does not care what the real people involved want or need to be done or want to resolve things in a CORRECT and PROPER manner. I have never seen so many argument\s in and on sports fields and events both state wide, school wide and Nation wide..IS it something in the WATER????

YR, I do not watch The Batchelor, I find the premise of the show to be ridiculous, but I saw that guy on the news this morning. What an idiot. And the girl who "accepted" his rose after saying "I love you" and he just sort of went, "Uh, blah... mmphhfff...", well she deserves her idiot.
I took some other pills, with flu medicine and while my post nasal drip has abated a tad, it is too hard to think any thing to complex at the moment. I have so much wrong with me right now, I am forced to cancel my activity of the evening!
I wanted to tell this story in a much different way, but so be it. LOL I had my own "authority" as it was my "job" to keep the seats open for the families and spouses of the volunteers working the meet, as we were hosting the event. This is something we have done every year. Last year, I did the same thing. It is a tough job! After a certain point, when it becomes obvious how many seats will be used by our "team", I would then take up the reserved signs to open up the seating. Believe me, it gets crowded on championship night.
So, I show up and it seems the pushy team in question had formed a plan to defeat our arrangement by showing up extra early and they removed our signs and took down the crepe paper roping off our reserved area. Another swim dad on our team who got there before me, had his own words with some other obnoxious woman who actually started on him with curses.
So, with this information priming me, and having accepted my duty as seat monitor, I took it upon myself to get some computer printing paper from the pool deck, and took out my collection of flourescent highlighters, as any swimmom worth her salt would have handy, and started making new signs, and began slapping them down, starting in the front row, where this pompous woman thought to establish herself.
I had already informed some cronies of hers, that they were in our reserved area, and they had pretty much she left without much fuss. So when this pompass woman returns to her stuff, I inform her that she is in our reserved area. She starts with a line of double talk, in such a way as it appears she is agreeable, yet she starts to spread her crap out, like she's going to take up the front row.
I pretty much realized that any real conversation with this woman would be an exercise in futility. So when she started to push her bags down to take the space, I slid them right back. When she stood up to take a picture, I said, "Thank you for leaving your seat!" and I slapped down my newly made reserved sign, right in that spot.
LOL
At which point she starts acting all affronted and says, "WHO ARE YOU?" Seeking to intimidate me further, she next says she is going to get the police. At which point, I just look her in the face, knowing all the time I have my power makeup face on, and it is giving me such power boost in my confidence aspect, I just say, "Yes, please do that, we certainly could use the Police!"
So, I stand right next to her, so she can't spread herself out any more, and while my posture was one of crossed arms, I am fully aware it is a passive aggressive pose. However, I make sure she is only yapping into my deaf ear, at the same time. I will myself to keep a placid face, determined to wait it out.
.... to be continued.........!
