My mentor sent me this and I thought you guys might be interested in seeing this. I never heard they had a name and a registry--most of the mixes I have seen with gsds--working wise--have been Mals.................http://texoma.craigslist.org/pet/4127668712.html

LOL. Not an uncommon cross and usually great working dogs...but "Dutchman Shepherds"??? I can't say it without laughing. I guess I'm just unimaginative, calling them GSDxDutchie crosses all this time. I also didn't know Dutch Shepherds were a rare breed.
I'm sure they'll all find competent homes on CL.

OMG....i bet they will be keeping 80% of them for that priceL....no one with $600 for a dog is looking for one on CL....

these have parents that are actually reg. on this site.....why are they on CL?....
for a small community in TX, there are sure a lot of GSD's on CL...

I would think the LAST place a serious breeder would be putting puppies is on Craig's list. And yes there are a lot on there--in this area, dogs are easily disposed of and easily replaced. As I said I have a litter due in December and I have already had people from here begging me for a Mauli pup. I won't just tell them no--it always is I'll have to see what I have and then of course I never have anything. And in this area, they think if they pay 300 for a dog it's got to be this and that--quality etc. So no I look fort those "rare" dutchies to not do so well.

Craigslist, despite all it's bad publicity, and "so-called" rules against selling dogs there, seems to be a major "hot-@pot" for selling dogs!
Look how many craigslist postings get reposted here!
Also seems that many of the ads, have 'rehoming' fees, greater than 'some' sell registered dogs for from the start.
I've seen AKC reg. German Shephherd pups advertised on the wonderful "Pet-finder" site by many a kennel.
I've seen them advertised for as little as $250. Who is going to breed a litter of 'Quality' pups, and turn around and than sell them for that price.
I guess one guess would be the breeder that 'truly' is not in it for the money.
I just don't understand so many people that put such little value on their dogs.
I have also seen quite a few Mali/German Shepherd cross pups advertised as rare.(as they should be).(rare)
