Secret Service Dog - Page 1

I caught this today and found it upsetting.

Very sad, but I don't think it was anyones fault, he probably jumped off the roof himself. Tragic, but an accident.

my male shepherd almost went over the wall in a parking garage being a idiot luckly i was far enough from the wall and paying close enough attention i caught it and pulled him back.  it was terrifying and it im sure was a accident

Saw this too; very sad, and how awful for the dog's handler!  Do wish they'd mentioned the dog's name in the piece I read...didn't read the linked article because I didn't need more sads today.

Drive can be a dangerous thing.  Trying to remember which 'name' working-line GSD it was whose death came when he jumped into a canal chasing a ball and drowned...  A dog needs to have at least some degree of self-preservation instinct, otherwise they might as well be considered 'disposable', like the drummer in Spinal Tap.  :^(
