CMills

by CMills on 01 January 2013 - 22:01

I am going to be the first to post a New Years resolution we should ALL make!  Let's all try to be kinder and more helpful this New Year on these forums. Of late, there have been so many threads that have been more than a little unfriendly,  too many people who think they are better, or know more than others. If there is a topic, lets not go off topic to trash someone else, if someone is asking for help or a question, lets not post links to other things that don't pertain to the original topic just to get a nasty stab in, if there are newcomers asking questions, lets try to be a bit more helpful, etc.  So many times I've read threads that just trash others, that is not the kind or right thing we should be doing.  Can we all agree here?  Happy New Year!!!!!!

CMills that is a great concept and I certainly hope it works out. I know I have a mouth but I get so frustrated with the misinformation being put out on here and most of it is new people who never even read anything. They just post. No names but there is another person on here who thinks they are the GSD guru--I have caught them in misinformation and tried to tell them why they were wrong. People on here who KNOW that this person is wrong sit and suck it up and praise this person. And that's not the way it should be handled. Someone should take them to the side. I'm not going to cause they don't like me and that's cool. I just think this could be such an awesome place for newbies to come to to learn. But not the way it's going. I believe it is doing more harm than good. I know we all had to start somewhere but some of us older folks started before email and forums and when you really did have to pay your dues to your mentor or club.
So please people get your shit together and when you see misinfo being spread please try to hep stop it and not encourage it to go on and on..................

Happy New Year................

Nicely said vonissk.  This is supposed to be a learning and helpful place, esp for newer ones.  So many times I've seen such unnecessary posts, nasty comments, those "greater than thou" ones making snide remarks, etc  and all is NOT necessary to get ones point across about the original topic.  Sometimes I've seen added links and/or posts that really don't have anything to do what what the original poster asked, just to be able to stab someone in the back, etc.  All this is really unnecessary. Maybe I'm just a bit more mature than some of these others.  I just hope that maybe this year we can try to be more helpful and kinder to each other!!

HEY lol
Do i have too?  I'll be gone till the end of the quarter anyhow.  Thats how it seems anyway.  Sarcasm portion of my brain fills up with sales metrics, KPI's, market share analysis etc etc.  Makes posting not so much fun without something smarta$$ to say.

I will try as well.  Sometimes it is incredibly painfully.

BTW CMills, vonissk just called you an old fart. Wink Smile

LOL live4!  As I've always been told, if the shoe fits wear it, oh well!  I prefer to be called a "seasoned veteran" instead. Sounds more professional. haha
