Thanks to Cairo1, who reported that they got a 'harmful site' warning when they tried to access the GSD Breed Betterment Registry website last week, the webmaster for the site was alerted, the situation was investigated and the problem has been corrected. Someone hijacked the URL for the site, using it to try to redirect people to a completely unrelated site with questionable content.
It is once again safe to access the web site, and GSD owners are encouraged to enroll their dogs and update their health information periodically so the records are current. GSD owners, and those considering the purchase of one, can also search through the database's records for particular dogs that may have have ancestors in common with one's own dog or a potential purchase or breeding, noting as they go if there appear to be any particular health concerns associated with the inclusion of this dog or that within a pedigree.
