Apparently USCA has taken some action regarding Mr. Govednik. http://germanshepherddog.com/members/eballots.htm#EB26-12 They refer to an incident on Aug 8,2011, Is this incident the disappearance of the dog or something other than that?

I know this is old but 1 thing bothers me. Couldnt they have just DNA'd the remains to determine if the dead dog was or was not Hex? If Hex had not had DNA submitted to AKC, they could still do a dna profile by using an offspring of Hex's.
Dunno, Makes no sense why it hasnt been done yet, or if it had I just didnt see that in the reports. That would stop the speculation.

Shandra, I don't believe there was ever any question regarding whether the dead dog that was found was Hex...that part of the story, at least, seems to be accepted across the board. What was, and I suppose still is, in dispute are the circumstances surrounding how the dog left its home property, and how & when he ended up dead and in a ditch near that home property.
For my part, I hate the thought that an experienced dog owner would have just let his dog wander away, and I equally abhor any suggestion that members of the local SchH club [could/would] do something so underhanded and evil as to abduct the dog--and I had no idea at the time that there was any bad blood between the two, so the thought of that never crossed my mind. At this point, I don't know what happened, and whoever is responsible for the dog's demise will reap what they've sown, eventually. It's not for me to mete out that justice, and I don't regret being willing to think better of both the dog's owner and the local club members. As for the donation money, I've wasted more for far less noble causes.
Edited to add words in brackets.

Wait, what? Are you saying that USCA ought to be transparent in its dealings?

I hate to say it, but there has been more than one incident discussed here on the database, where "respected" members of sch clubs have stolen someones dog.
I too would hate to think the death of the dog was deliberate, maybe just got out of hand.
I also open the door and let my dogs out in the morning. The couple younger ones that like to test me, do not go unsupervised.
And I have 4ft fence that means nothing to most.
I guess Al is getting a penalty for stating what he felt happened to his dog.
I think that is unfair, especially since that is what he believed to be true.

I may have missed something? But I don't ever recall
Al or any of his family members soliciting for funds ever
during this entire situation. Yes, there were braclets offered,
but only after many chimed in they wanted to donate.
I don't believe anyone that donated was under duress or
threat when they did so, it was done of their own free will.
Don't recall anyone that donated asking for an accounting
of the funds collected either? By all means correct me if I
am wrong on this, but i just don't remember Al or anyone
directly related to him coming on this board or any other
and asking for funds.

Alright, I can't stand it anymore. The discipline is NOT about the Hex mess. It is about specific actions on one day ( look up the Hex timeline) and is about, essentially, violation of the Judge's Code of Conduct. A USCA judge is subject to the Code on and off the field. Think of it in terms of "conduct unbecoming" in the military or police dept. Engel has /had no clue about the specifics of what the discipline is about at all. Clearly, or he would have stated the reasons for the discipline, especially such serious discipline. Think about it. READ the information posted on the USCA website that Judy provided.
