My trainer said his mals gums swollen up a lot also but My dog when she bites stick or balls to hard her gums always get red in the back. I think she has a chewing issue or something not sure but Does anyone elses gsd do this always biting and chewing things and back gums always red? BUt if bitin sticks start to bleed a bit?

Could be a sign of gum disease or an injury so it wouldn't hurt to take the dog to a vet for an exam.

My vet has seen it in the past when it goes away totally. It only happens when she is biting things really hard.  Shes always had it, it never got worse or better and is always in the same spot. But when i ask people with other working gsds they say their dogs dont get it.

teeth are also white but if i give her a big stick she will snap it in half and bite the crap out of it and that spot will bleed

Periodontal disease can cause bleeding like that.

I also would not allow the stick chewing.

if it is the early stages do you know if it is easy to fix? Also can she still do bite work if she has it?

i wonder what kind of bones i should buy her raw beef bones or tarter bones etc.. i quit buying her bones because a year ago

I should get her a teeth cleaning also. But maybe x rays first?

I would really start by taking her maybe to a specialist. Someone that can observe what is going on. I had a Mali/Shep X that had it one time and we had to stop bite work. I am by no means saying your dog has any health issues but to me the teeth are so important in animals. Can you take her back to your vet and show him/her how the bleeding starts? I hope your dog is fine but it wouldn't hurt to let a professional check it out. I am not one to run to the vet for everything but when it comes to something important I will let the speacialist take a look. Good luck to you.
