My siberian Husky Kinko - Page 1

Hello, My names Patrick Harper and I live in Ohio. My Siberian Husky “Kinko” has Hereditary cataracts and is going blind. I don’t know how much time he has left before he is unable to get the surgery he needs, but I do know that he deserves this surgery. He just turned 1 year last week or two. The breeder will not help me with any of this, My job is seasonal, I have two small children and my girlfriend goes to school full time.. I don’t know how to sum this up anymore then I need your help drastically. I took him to my vet and from there they sent me to a specialist and they told us he needs surgery for the cost of $4500.00. I managed to get donations and grants all the way to $1500.00 dollars. I believe I need roughly around $3000.00. Even if I had the opportunity to give him back to the breeder I would not because he has stolen my heart and my children’s. I’m scared he’s running out of time.. If there is anything you can do to help me and family’s dog, I would be much appreciated.

I have reached the end of one of the fundraisers witch is the $1500.00. so happy that its a good start.

I also wanted to give a special thanks for Hexe, Beetree and all others who have helped Kinko and I get this far. With out you guys I wouldnt have the modivation to do somthing so spectacular for him.  <3

Did you check the prices with the other vets whose info I gave you in your previous thread?

What makes you think he is running out of time and won't be able to have surgery to remove his cataracts? 

I took him to another specialist  and they told me the same thing as the last. the price is the price. As for the info you gave me, I did look at it alot but I also remember what the first specialist told me about how as his cataracts mature the chances of him having this surgery done gets smaller and smaller due to the fact that his lens will detach. Meaning removing the cataracts isnt going to do any good. The only reason I say these things in forums like this is because im nervious to leave that part out. I feel that its vital information to kinkos surgery.   Now that im not working as much atm, I am doing alot of work for kinko.
I also made alot of new friends on facebook, forums, who are helping me spread the word about Kinko. I actrually have a couple good leads (thank god) and I think where doing well.  I just pray that this pans out for the better. I take full responsibility not getting this done the first month. But now Im trying hard to do this right.

I also wanted to say for those who helped me from this sight with the previous fundraiser, I would like to put the money I have gotten from you guys but that website takes a good chunk of what we make. so id be loosing money in the long run. I guess its more of a chance.
