So we have been told that he may be part Rottweiler and Catahoula blue Leopard hound, after doing a ton of research I just do not believe this anymore. He acts nothing like one and he has the build of a Catahoula, the temperment and the hair of a Black with brindle point. And his eyes are a forsure sign. I just do not see the Rottweiler in him at all. Do you think we have recieved the wrong breed info? Also his coat is medium/soft and he weighs about 75lbs. Anyway please help!

He's striking, no matter what he is. Regular Smile Those eyes are something else! I couldn't tell you what you have, sorry!

I don't know if catahoulas come in brindle, I don't think so. Looks like brindle on the legs. If I had to guess, I would say he's a plot hound/ catahoula cross. That is not an uncommon cross. Very handsome dog, anyway.

Rottie x Aussie

by 1GSD1 on 16 October 2012 - 17:10

Hey it's hard to tell with just 2 pics but the first one hit me as Rottie immediately and the eyes and markings, Aussie. I tried not to keep looking and went with the first thought.

Never saw a brindle ausie or Rotti.

No I think he has a lot of Catahoula in him, but I also see Rott in his head shape.  Blue eyes
are maybe not definative,  the Wall Eye genes outweigh brown eyes.
He's got too much solid black in his coat for pure Catahoula, surely ?
Sorry but I don't see any Aussie.  JMO.Dog

Hundmutter, catahoulas come in Irish spotting factor pattern. Plotts come in brindle plus this dog has a head like a plott and brindle on the legs. Also, that is a fairly common cross.
