Older dogs. Are you adding supplement to their diet? - Page 1

I have a Labrador that recently turned 9 years old and we do a lot of excerice.

We live in a city but frequently go to a farm, he "helps" herd horses over rough terrain for several hours but in this last year I have noticed him limping after many hours of herding so I used to give him Rimadyl the morning after.
But now I have started giving him half a pill of Glucosamine twice a day and I see a huge improvement. 
No more limping after a long day at the farm.

I guess you have lots more suppliments in USA f. ex than I can get to, but never the less thought I asked :) 

Are you feeding your golden oldies something extra?

kelp, coral calcium, brewers yeast and the one for joints (cant think of a name to save my life - glucosamine?).....I do that for all of my dogs young and old...

Here is what I have found to be MOST successful for my almost 14 year old sammie bitch;  has been on this for about 6 months now and started out 2 times per day about l ounce;  now down to l small squirt per day and going strong.  I do find that I have to keep her nails short though otherwise she trips.

Also I only use the pain formula if she tweeks herself and seems extra sore and limping for more than a day.  I usually only have to give her maybe one dose possibly 2 doses and she is good to go.  Unbelieveable stuff also safe.  Love that.
