Ok, so I need some help. I bought a white German sheperd on July 17th, I made sure I looked at the parents to make sure they were purebred. They looked purebred to me. However, this is my first German sheperd ever so I wasn't for sure what to look for by visual to make sure they were actually purebred. Anyways, my pup is now four months and one week old, but for some reason, I have doubts that he might be mixed. I only say this because he hasnt grown much since I'be got him. My girlfriend and I looked at pictures of purebred white German sheperds and they looked very similar to my pup. We looked at four month old German sheperds and they were a lot bigger then what he looks like now. Am I feeding him wrong or is there a high chance of him being mixed?

What are you feeding him and do you have registration papers for the puppy??? Did you buy from a reputable breeder?? Ya never know nowadays, what you might get out there.

I am feeding him purina puppy chow. He was not registered, so no I do not have the registration papers. I didnt know the couple we bought him from, so I am not sure about there reputation on breeding.

Hmm..purina puppy chow...i would and i am sure many others will suggest changing that...

Its simple all you have to do is read ingred. and than compare it to other foods like Kirkland, taste of the wild, Blue....make sure 1st ingred. is actual meat and not corn or corn meal, or chicken by product....

also, How much does he weight?

If that's him in your avatar, he looks purebred to me, but the pic is small. I might change my mind with a larger picture.

If you plan to feed kibble, check into Taste of the Wild. If that's too pricey for you, look into 4Health sold at Tractor Supply stores. It's not that much more expensive than Puppy Chow, but a huge step ahead in nutrition IMO.
