Schafer Lake Kennels, John Paver - Page 1

I was proud to have had the opportunity to have Qai vom Schafer See, born January 10, 1999 a breading from Orex amd Alin.  Qai departed me on July 20, 1012.  Qai was a working police K-9 from May 2001 to August 2010.  He was a dual purpose police K-9 and in 2009, we were the recipient of K-9 Handler of The Year from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association.

Qai was a remarkable dog from every aspect.  I paired up with him in July 2000 when he was merely 1 1/2 years old and finishing his law enfrocement training.  Although I have many photos of Qai as we progressed through his career, I don't have photos (if they exist) of when he was at Schafer Lake Kennels as a puppy.  I have tried to track down John Paver and came across the other posts that note he left breeding after the passing of Orex.

Qai is saddly missed and it appears from the posts that Orex was a sire of many great dogs.

Sorry for your loss, Gus....

Im so sorry for the loss of your partner Gus. It sounds as if you and Qai shared many happy memories and Im sure your better because of him. Count yourself lucky to have had such a friend. I hope you can track down some photos of his younger years.


My Orex daughter is 12 1/2 and I treasure every day. She is a real joy to own. 

I am sorry for your loss and it sounds like he was a great dog!  

I bred to an Orex son for my D litter and kept a female (my Drama) and my sister has a male from that breeding as well.  The entire litter was super nice producing some SAR, K9 and SchH dogs!  

Qai was a beautiful dog!

Sorry to hear about Qai. He was only a young dog when I sold him to Larry, but even at the time I knew he had great potential.
