Advice Please! My girl is polish and registered there, but UK Kennel Club say she is registered with 'WRONG CLUB' and are refusing to register her in UK on their Breed register. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you fix it? Plus could I register her puppies with another European club? I intend to work the puppies in UK. My reading of European Union rules suggests they are actually acting illegally, but has anyone forced them to act rationally?

I thought I was doing everyone in UK circles a favour by bringing some quality east eauropean bloodlines in, but UK KC obviously don't agree

Any (legal) suggestions welcome.

If your dog has no FCI papers you will not be able to register her in UK. In Poland you have many clubs but only dogs with FCI papers are recognized by other countries.  I do not think you can do anything about this. I guess you got a dog which is register with Polski Club Owczarka Niemieckiego (which is not recognize by FCI)

Put her on the KC Activity Register;  she can then work at KC recognised trials etc, her health test results will go on the database, the only things you won't be able to do are a) Show her in a formal ie non-Companion Show setting; and b) register her pups in the GSD Breed register if you have any from her  (except that if you use a registered GSD stud dog, there may be about to be some leeway on that coming in the not too distant future - though don't hold your breath, that one is far from definite yet !
Not sure if you would be able to do SchH/VPG/IPO type work in competition at the (new-ish) Regional Shows -
ask your neighbourhood GSD League rep.

Thanks Both.

My Girl has just had pups to UK registered sire, which is why I decided to register her.

She is registered with
Polski Club Owczarka Niemieckiego
I thought their BCCI was the same as FCI (you live and learn) but EU law is clear that if a pedigree animal is registered with an official stud book in one EU country then the importing stud book has to take them, so I assumed that I could import her.

I will register her on activity and appeal.

Any advice on local breed clubs (I live in Cheshire area).

I wanted to do some obedience, and activity with her but broke my leg shortly after she arrived from our friends in Eatern Europe- so after a prolonged recovery decided it was now or never to breed her. She is 4 now. She loves to run and jump, so I suspect a more general working club, and to have some fun with her.

We have 4 boys puppies, and intend to keep 2 so I need to sort out her and their registration. My husband and Girls (with me) will be working these 2. The boys father is a working UK line Starco My Guy of Bannersway. they are lovely bright puppies already at six weeks.

I have had shepherds for many years, my first was a retired police dog, and although I have never competed I enjoyed training and working with them all.

I simply fell in love with the 'mountain dog' Polish strain, smooth long topcoat, clever, solid and above all temperamentally reliable. Niaive I supose to expect the KC to recognise the Polish Club.

I recommend you approach the League because working club cover / accessibility is patchy and I don't know how
far you'll get if you only use Ambii's contacts.  You are in the 'better' end of the UK geographically for hundsport;
the League people will know and because there is equal emphasis on the Showdog side they may also be able to
help you as much as anybody could with your registration issues.
Sorry I have no idea exactly why the KC are picky about recognition of non-FCI clubs in Europe, maybe there is some
Agreement between KC & FCI that covers it, maybe its just administrative red tape.
