Would like to know if any folks could recommend, for me, a good GSD breeder in the state of Missouri? I want to start researching locations to eventually (having to sit on my hands) add to my outstanding, young shepherd girl. Not for breeding, but family companion.
Thank you all for all the wonderful information, and pictures on this site -- more like a family rather than strangers around the world.

I would also recommend Karen Belcher. She has a beautiful litter right now!

Karen has a female Yessy Vom Haus Berg .. that came from my partners kennel in Stillwater Ok.. Karen has some beautiful dogs.. and specializes in solid blacks . sables.. and solid pedigrees !! I myself.. will have a show line litter .. but not for another year. (I have a VA Peik daughter getting titles) but there is a kennel in Ok also that has working dogs for companion and police/personal protection.. (Brush Creek Kennels) ...depending on what you are looking for!! good luck.. I am having a horrible time finding a helper/decoy in the Branson/Springfield area and have to drive 3 hours to either Scott Hedger or a Tom Rose trainer.. ugh.. frustrating here in the mid west !! Stoney Creek Farm near Houston, Rohrbacher's German Shepherds in Truxton, vom Schaferfeld Shepherds and Show Me Shepherds in Fulton are just a few-I have dogs from all the listed kennels but Show Me.

Also my former Obedience instructor with showlines and K9 Angels Training with workinglines-also has Dutch Shepherds & Beligain Malinois-around Columbia.

I also found "Whirling Thunder Shepherds" in Pittsburg Kansas.. only an hour for me.. they have some nice dogs on the website ! I see Russ Osburn is training there now!!

Thank you, thank you everyone! I sincerely appreciate the leads -- now for the decision. If you know anymore, please give your input. So many outstanding GSDs and so little time - ha.
swingfield -- I know what you mean about the midwest and SW MO. It is not always easy to find things in middle america. I hope you have found someone good by now to work with.

If you want working lines... look for a nice titled breeding with good hips and elbows
