I did put a GSD puppy on this at 8 months of age and x-rays at 18 months are fine.
Has anyone put a younger GSD puppy on this?

Found this on a Golden Ret board. I just ordered some Fromm Gold large breed puppy. It's not grain free. I don't like them on the Blue Buffalo Large breed, UGH. This is crazy. No raw is not an option. I do have raw as in K9 cravings but have not used it yet and it was not for the pups. thanks. Of course from the ratios below it sounds ok, the Acana that is.

I emailed Acana to be sure the grain-free formulas were safe to feed my Great Dane pup (who's now 4.5mths old). I was told that out of the grain-free formulas, Acana Pacifica, and Wild Prairie are appropriate for young pups, while Grasslands and Ranchlands (especially Grasslands) should not be fed to growing pups because the Calcium/Phosphorus ratio is innappropriate for a growing pup (ratio should be 1.2:1 calcium/phosphorus, but Grasslands is 2:1.2 I think, and Ranchlands is 1.8:1.4...these are off the top of my head and may be slightly off).

Nevermind. Have looked at so many ratios on so many foods. Just looked again on Acana Wild Prairie and it's 1.3% Cal and 1.1% Phos. Says minimun. I'll have to call myself.
