This past weekend I noticed a small dog sitting on the side of frontage road of a major interstate. 2 hours later we past the same exit and she was still there.... I couldn't bare to just leave her there so I stopped and coxed her into my arms. She's living with mom and dad for the time being, but they cannot keep her.

She went to the vet Monday and is heartworm neg, no fleas, good teeth, but has a horrible earmight infection in both ears. We're treating her for this. She may or may not be preggers.

I think she's part Beagle and part something else. Anyone want to guess what the other part is?

I was gonna say Beagle and JRT, or some other sort of smooth coated terrier (Rat terrier?) she's cute and got a nice short coat. Hope you can find her a good home. Best of luck.

Her hind legs come out like a terrier.
She's showing some ball drive and is quite nimble.

I'd say "deer beagle" -- it's a beagle/hound (/terrier?) cross typically used to run deer--at least here in Virginia.

She looks like a German Hound or "Deutsche Bracke" - they are about 45 cm tall and come in white and red or white and black and red.
Main hunting dog in Germany - see link (in German):

I'd vote for beagle/hound mix, but I'm not familiar enough with hounds to guess what type of hound. A foxhound would be about the right size, though

She looks almost identical to the beagle basset X I had years ago. :)
