So i was woken up in the middle of the night last week with my puppy having a wet congested sounding cough and then a gag. I thought maybe kennel cough but after a week it seems to just happen at night and just at home. Any ideas?

Food, water, environment, not much to go on here.

You probably have some type of respiratory infection going on, but yes, there is very little detail to go on...
I would take it to the vet and have a nasal culture done and see what happens. Some respiratory infections the dog can fight on it's own. But if it's viral you must get treatment! A dog can die from advanced respiratory deseases. Don't mess around with it.
JMHO and general advice with very little to go on.
Also vaccines can cause some symptoms, but should not go" full blown"

i will give my vet a call today. a little more info, he eat taste of the wild kibble and raw aswell. He is currently on the antibiotic Simplicef treating an abcess that happened a week and a half ago. He is a house dog, spends 24/7 with me. I have two other dogs as well with no issues. Like i said before the coughing ONLY happens during the night in my bedroom. Soon as i get out of bed the coughing stops and he can spend time in the bedroom during the day with no coughing. I do have forced hot air heating so was thinking maybe it dries out the air in the bedroom while the doors closed?
ill keep you all updated with that the vet says and i will also try to get a video of him coughing.
