EuroShepherd

I saw the full length of the dash cam video before, I think it's somewhere on youtube (not the Ellen version but the origional that actually shows when the cop first finds the dog and the dog leading the cop on every turn.)  What Ellen doesn't say is that dog led the rescuers over a few miles to the burning home (I'm guess-remembering like 2-3 miles???)
It is one of the most amazing displays of canine intelligence I've ever seen, I wish I knew a stud dog that smart I could breed one of my girls too.  As smart as I think my dogs are, even I would seriously doubt most of my dogs could do that.  I think my first GSD, a czech/DDR dog was probably smart enough to lead a strange car over miles of roads to rescue me and possibly my oldest male GSD, but not sure any of the other dogs I've ever owned would know to do that.  (then again maybe they just really surprise us?)

Here are some more links to show just how amazing this dog was.  The first link I think shows best.

The second link shows longer video footage, it's not as long as the one I saw before, but gives you a good idea.

And the dog was recognized for being a hero here

It's a handsome dog, it's face makes me think perhaps some AM show lines.  but not extreme in any way.  It's amazing how the officer followed the dog without hesitation and how the dog was running at full speed, you can just tell the dog knew it was real serious.

Yes, I just love that story, it chokes me up.  I've only had one dog that I think may have been smart enough to do that, and he was half AM showline strangely enough.
I find it amazing too how the officer followed the dog, but then again, the dog definitely looked like he was waiting there, as he only took off running when he saw the car.  He also hesitates when the car looks like it is going to go straight through, instead of following him, and then off he goes again.

Fantastic dog, fantastic story, I just love it!
