Last summer (July or August), we had a swarm of bees nest in the ground in our yard. One of our dogs was just a puppy at the time and was very interested in the hive; in spite of our best efforts to keep her away from the bees' activity the inevitable happened and she was stung. The bee left its stinger in her nose and my dad scraped it out with his finger nail. A few days later the fur in the area of the sting fell out, I thought "No big deal, it will grow back, she probably just had an allergic reaction to the sting." But six months later the fur has still not grown back; we were hoping to show her, but the scar is the size of a pencil eraser and is very noticeable. We still love her of course, but would like to help the fur grow back if possible. We have tried some natural remedies that are supposedly good for stimulating hair regrowth but have not had any success. Has any one else ever had something like this happen to them and successfully treated the scar?

Over a thousand views and no-ones got a clue... Sorry about that because I haven't either. Only thing I can think is that the sting set up a deep skin infection which has left the scar. The face tends to scar especially around the boney parts of the muzzle, there's nothing I can suggest. :(

Eucerin lotion three times a daily will grow back hair on elbow calluses (although i don't recmmend it, dogs need those). Can't hurt to try on her scar.
