Our 1.5 female Lab, Piper had a large litter of 10 pure bred pups on 1-8-12. Second day we noticed 5 had a thick cradle cap type clumps on their back, near their tails. We've been treating it with olive oil and messaging it daily. Seems to be losening up, but not going away. Any suggestions?

WOW charging $350 for mutts & then passing them off as purebreds! Shame on you! Look up the breed profile. There is no such color Lab as a black with brown markings.
Another BYB ruining the Lab breed...way to go

Dogs don't get cradle cap. It's probably a bacterial infection, take them to the vet.
Ditto, northwoods. As if there is a shortage of labs...........

Wow. Yea, it's probably a bacterial infection. And as for being a purebred lab, you really need to look at the breed standards. You're falsly advertising these pups. Shame.

First off Momma is to young to have been bred, no health testing on parents - Mom is not old enough. Second Labs only come in 3 colors, yellow, black and chocolate. No silver, no white, no fox red just the three colors listed. The puppies probably have puppy pyoderma which is a bacterial infection, it needs to be treated by a vet. Spend some of the money you will be pulling in selling mutts and take them to the vet. Also take Dad and Mom in for their spay and neuter.

Our Humane Society does full vaccs for $25 and will nip both for about the same price. Just saying.

Both of those mismarked pups but especially the one look like GSD markings. And I agree with all that has been said.

WOW you're letting the pups go 5-6 weeks of age? I hope thats a misprint, but doubt it. You really need to keep the pups until 8 weeks of age, most states thats the LAW. You also need to get these two spayed/neutered we do not need any more mutts being produced and thats exactly what your dogs are! They aren't registered and the male produces multiple colors, hello MUTT. Please keep these pups till 8 weeks of age and make sure they are seen by a vet.

If it's a black patch could also be a flea nest.... Have seen pups with heavy flea infestation come into the clinic with this.

The sad part is there are 10 people out there who are as dense (putting it lightly) as the OP and will actually pay $350 to the lying BYB. When will people STOP buying from people like this! Stupid is as stupid does. Cradle cap... that is a good one. These aren't human babies, they are dogs. You and your dogs shouldn't be breeding.
