When you buy a pup/dog from an alleged reputable breeder, what exactly do you think SATISFACTION GUARANTEED means?  I know it doesnt mean the buyer will be happy....

Guarantee's are a red flag period.

SS; it means they will try their best to keep you happy--at least till payment is received in FULL

One thing I have learned through my own disappointing experiences.  There are NO guarantees in life.
Thats why I NEVER guarantee anything!

Satisfaction guaranteed means if your not satisfied with the dog you can return it. BUT it depends on who you buy the do from! Some people keep their word and some dont! Do your research before buying from someone. Search their kennel name and see what comes up.

satisfaction is not something you can guarantee with a living being or anything for that matter!

by beetree on 30 December 2011 - 19:12

LOL

What's the almighty contract you signed have to say about it?  Generally speaking, I would say your experience as owner will not be taken at face value, until you can verify the cause of the unsatisfaction by getting at least two vets of the sellers choosing, to agree that you are indeed, dissatisfied with just cause. Any costs associated with the verification of satisfaction on your part will be borne by you.

Gotta love those loopholes!

LOL beetree!

There are loopholes and if someone would say "satisfaction guaranteed" they better have their bases covered or you would have people wanting to return their dog at the age of 1 because they didn't socialize it or train it and now it doesn't listen to them so they wouldn't be satisfied!

As for health etc... that should be clearly outlined what's covered. I could never guarantee a customer's dog will be healthy throughout it's life but I can guarantee that the parents are free from any health problems and when the dog left my hands it was in good health.

As a buyer, I pay no attention to "guarantees" or anyone else's interpretation of "satisfaction".  If there is a contract, I assume the terms outlined will be honored.  If anything is vague, I get it clarified before my final decision (for example the last time I bought a dog the contract stated the dog would pass a breed survey and I wanted to know what the breeder would do if the dog had an overbite or missing/extra teeth).  If there is no written contract, I don't assume anything.  I have one dog I purchased with no contract, no guarantees.  Overall I feel I view dog ownership more like people outside the USA, I get what I get.  I don't expect the breeder to give me another dog or pay for every little problem that might come up.

With ALL the so called,"reputable"breeders out there, I truly find it amazing as to how many people think NO ONE honors their dog guarantees!
How about "WARRANTEE?", Does ANYONE ELSE live up to the guarantee, that IF there is a problem,(as of course you can not guarantee nothing will happen), they will provide a replacement pup WITHOUT a million strings attached?
That is a sad thought for any puppy (dog) buyer!
