Hey all,
just looking for some input on Heartworm/Parasite/Flea/Tick Prevention. I have always used Heartguard/Frontline for Heartworm and Flea and Tick Treatment. I administer Heartguard year round and Fronline usually during the spring and summer time. Have never had any problems and everything seems to be working fine.
My Vet is pushing me to swith to a newer product Called Trifexis (www.trifexis.com) that is supposed to prevent heartwork, kill fleas, and prevent hook, round, and tape worms. Sounds awesome and convenient but It has different active ingredients for heartwork prevention than Heartguard and I am always scepticle of new stuff until it is proven. Has anyone used this or have any knowledge of it. Effectiveness, side affects, etc? Thanks

Hi, switch to Ivomec-ivermectin, save 75% of the money, and you may use every other month. A small bottle could last you more than a year and cost about $30. Good luck

I'm also very skeptical of anything besides ivomectrin (active ingredient in Heartguard) for heart worm.
