Actually, the dog is obviously a shepherd mix.
My GSD, Ranger, had his former owner do the same thing to him, and he stil greets the man with a wagging tail whenever he happens to see him. (The former owner is a good friend of my mom's so our paths do cross now and then.)
Did anyone think of laying cruelty charges against him? Oh no, this was QUEBEC, the puppy mill capital of Canada!
To quote a favourite For Better or For Worse cartoon, "To err is human, to forgive canine! And there are times when we certainly don't deserve that forgiveness!

I am glad the dog is in a new and better home. Too bad there isn't a way to make the owner feel what the dog felt. If feeling what the victim felt was a punishment for the crime, how many people would hurt others??? Too bad there isn't some kind of machine that could do that.

If only there was something like that! I am so sickened by what human beings are capable of... I was absolutely horrified by what happened to those bomb sniffing dogs at the Houston airport that were going to be sent to Afghanistan. What is wrong with people ???
