FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -
Michigan State Police say a dog had to be euthanized after swallowing needles authorities suspect were placed inside some meat by a neighbor.
The dog's owner told state police Trooper Michael Peterson on Monday that his 8-year-old Labrador retriever vomited 20 needles.
The Monroe Evening News reports (http://bit.ly/s8tM1w) the dog was euthanized after a veterinarian found needles embedded in the animal's stomach and intestines.
Peterson says the neighbor told police he put the needles inside the meat to prevent the dog from coming onto his property in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township, south of Detroit. The man previously had complained to the dog's owner about the issue.
Police say the neighbor told them he didn't realize the dog would swallow the needle-tainted meat.
The county prosecutor's office is reviewing the case.

how sad that another dog must pay becasue the owner refused to keep it in his own yard.....
i understand the frustration of the neighbor, but putting needles in meat ...... that's such a slow and horrible death...... poor dog!

I'll find out. If Santa were rich and feeling generous, he could bring me that too along with my hi speed, not sure I've been good enough though.

instead of fencing all three acres, consider fencing a smaller portion around your house. you could save $1000's and as you find money, you could increase the size.
