Our dog Kali loves Christmas-time for a lot of reasons, but for 1 totally bad thing that we indulge....she ADORES peppermints! So, I find myself buying a bunch of peppermint things that I wouldn't normally purchase. We try to keep it within reason, but she does get spoiled over the Holidays, just a little! I didn't get a picture of her watching me fill the candy dish with peppermint puffs-- with a big, thick rope of drool hanging from her lips; but I did catch this......
LOL! She even likes Altoids! (We make sure she actually only gets a very little taste, but her desire for peppermint is hugely entertaining...she'd walk on her ears if she thought she would get peppermint as a reward!)
Any one else have a dog with a slightly off-kilter Holiday craving?

That's adorable!
This will be our first Christmas with Qira, however Jewel (mom's Golden, but I consider her my dog too) loves Christmas cookies and marshmellows. We of course don't give her much, but a little taste won't hurt.

Loki used to love candy canes and would be amazingly sneaky for such a big boy. He also had a taste for red wine and he recognized the bottles. This picture, he found the bottle of wine and unwrapped the bottle himself, you can see the wrapping paper around him.
He also loved to rip open the presents under the tree (he had an obsession with boxes). It was not safe to have presents under the tree unless Loki was kept away from the tree.

Dawulf-- I don't blame the pooch, Christmas cookies are GOOD!
Mindhunt-- Loki is very handsome! And he's got good taste in wine, too! Beautiful picture!

Thanks Jackie, he was an incredible dog, that picture is washed out and doesn't show his deep color, he did have that wonderful big block head and a rather twisted sense of humor, trainer nicknamed him "psycho Einstein". His favorite was Black Star Farms Cabernet Franc (which is the bottle in the picture), which stopped being produced in 2008 and our last bottle was for his birthday in 2009 (he always got a little for Christmas and his birthday in November) which unfortunately he never got to see, He would have been 9.

This is our second Christmas without him and it is still strange to be able to put the gifts under the tree. Our other two are great dogs and have their Christmas favorites. Ronin and his candy canes (he is all innocent when he gives you a peppermint smelling kiss) and Isis and her ribbon hoarding (yes, she sneaks the bows and stashes them in a corner in our closet). We have to be ever watchful with those two goofs :0)

LOL Mindhunt, he looks like he's going to climb that tree! It's hard to go through the Holidays missing somebody....I'm glad you have 2 wonderful friends to comfort you. All the Best, jackie harris

He was Jackie, the decoy was in the tree and he was looking back at me because the decoy was out of reach. I can imagine what he was saying haha
The other two keep me busy, but they are getting up there in age as well, which might be ok since I am not as young as I used to be lol. I still love Kali with her nose buried deep in the goodie container ......
