You guys remember the "look at that dog" video I linked from youtube? Well that one wasn't insanely bad.........but this one.......It's from someone else doing a "bush man prank" on a guy and his dog.  The second person he scares really annoys me, just watch the dogs reaction......  If this was just at people it wouldn't be so bad, but seriously......do this around the wrong person or wrong dog and he would highly regret it.

Yeah I have at least three dogs and one husband here that would knock him the f***k out. If someone did that to a puppy *I* would knock him the f**** out. What a jackass.

It was done on Halloween for fun. I didnt see any harm in this. The video made me laugh.

So Donald, what if you were out walking a dog, or even a puppy for that matter.....And someone comes along and does this, scaring your dog? Or scaring your puppy leaving that impression in your puppies mind?  I personally don't mind it being done to people.......just people..... But do this in certain neighborhoods, certain places, etc.......Someones going to beat the living crap out of you or even shoot you.  The guys that do these pranks have been punched before for certain pranks.  One guy, "Jack Vale" got punched in Target for a prank he did.  The police had to come.  I'm all for Halloween pranks it's stupid to scare someones dog like that.

I think it would be good for my puppy as long as the people did it the way they did. I would especially look for the recovery from my pup. Its not like they tried to run the dog or pup....I expect my pups to handle that, personally speaking.

If it was done to my dogs while on leash nothing would happen. If off leash they would pursue the man but I would call them off. My pups that I have have shown no fear so far. This would interest me to see how they would react. I train in psa so scenerios like this are not uncommon for my dogs. There was no pressure coming from him so IMO this would of been free training for me and even better if the pups would of reacted in an aggressive manner. Yes this guys an idiot for doing this as he could get hurt!

If done during one of the 'fear periods' of normal puppy development, this most definitely *could* cause an aversion that will have to be trained out through re-exposure later on at the very least, and an indelible fearfulness at the very worst.  If some asshat took it upon himself to do this to one of my dogs, I'd thrash the living corpuscles out of them.

edited to add:  And here's the other reason why this pisses me off--in this case, the dog may end up paying the ultimate price for this piece of Satan's excrement's idea of a 'prank'.

I hope the dog's owner has the good sense to dump this jackwanker from her life, too.

I don't know where they are, but I bet it's not Texas.

lol Emorre I think they're in California.

hexe, that really ticks me off as well (in that link you posted).  What is really annoying is that the officer (boyfriend) said the dog was just doing it's job.......but he wants it put down.

Donald, I know not all dogs will react to that, but not all dogs are as confident as a well bred German Shepherd.  In fact, many, many regular pets would be scared to death of that.  Gustav, I think the sentence before this applies to your comment as well.  You have a confident dog, most pets people adopt, or even get from a breeder just don't have that kind of confidence.   And I think about things like.......what if it was a dog with real fear and an owner who just wanted to take it walking......or if it was a dog with aggression issues.
