Don't mess with these guys. The first thing they will tell you is not to feed raw.

Don't mess with Louise. The first thing she'll tell you is not to use heartworm preventative if you live in CA.

Hi Louise!

On the East coast, Cornell University or Tufts could be looked into.

Wrong!! Only if you live in my household. I have lived in the same 25 mile radius, have never had HW and do not use HW prophylaxis,

I could also say the same if you live in Germany as the disease is unknown there.

I live in California too, I don't use HW preventitives, I also don't live near the bay or mountians. I use the medication as a dewormer every once in a while.. but this thread is about getting nutritional info.. soo

You can get info also from Dog food companys, they usualy have Vets that test foods on lots of dogs before its marketed. Not saying its good, but it can show you the bad in the dog food industry.

Danger!!!! Warning!!!!!

California is not free from Heartworm danger.

When all the rescue dogs from Katrina and later from Texas and then several other southwest states, arrived in Marin County they brought in a Mega Heartworm infestation.  They infected local mosquitos who fly around the state.  People from all over the state came to get Katrina dogs.

Don't take risks with your dogs.  I know of several who did not survive the treatment.   Very, very, sad.

As a CPA and member of professional organizations, I recommend feeding raw.

Michele
