Will AKC accept litters resulting from AKC bitch and foreign source semen AI?

What paperwork is needed?

Do people with GSD, Doberman, and Rotts bitches get semen from Germany, for example? Will the litter be registerable with AKC?

Thanks

The SV in Germany does not allow for AI breedings.

Does AKC allow semen from other countries?

I am not talking about SV registration.

Holland? Other EU countries?

Inform me.......A dog in America bred by AI to another dog who is in America, can be registered by the AKC though, right?  And in order to compete in Schutzhund in the states you don't have to register with the SV? Is that correct?  I've asked that question like four times on this board before and I still have never gotten an answer.

I have bred a Malinois litter using frozen semen and my puppies were registered by AKC, they can compete in Schutzhund.  There are specific forms to complete to register the litter.  I am not sure about using foriegn semen.

For domestic source AKC stud semen, chilled and frozen semen without the presence of the stud owner/agent requires a vet certification.

I am asking about semen from a foreign country.

Not sure about foreign semen; you need to go to AKC.org and look up the rules and regulations on A.I. from a foreign country.  I think it is possible BUT if you are talking Germany, they probably won't ship it to you, will have to go to vet that specializes in A.I.'s like a fertility specialist as it requires some extra  education on the vet's part to be able to participate and be able to register the litter.  Hope this helps,Nan

Yes, AKC will register the litter assuming the proper forms are submitted and DNA testing is done.  You do have to send a swab to Europe to have the dog swabbed.

The specifics are on the AKC website at http://www.akc.org/pdfs/rulebooks/GASPEC.pdf

You might also talk to whoever is sending you the semen from Europe, I recently looked into importing semen and the place it is stored at gave me all the information I needed regarding AKC registration, which I verified with AKC.
