Hello,
It's me again ok say someone was buying a dog that is SG rated and "a normal "and is a sch1.Now when a person purchases this dog should the owner have paperwork to show she is sg rated and a normal and a sch1? The dog in question is Fina von nimbus.
And if she was imported he should have the pink papers and the AKC.paperwork? I just wish she was a tad younger.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks
steve

No paperwork? To me, that's a HUGE red flag! I can't tell you the number of times someone has come on the database to complain about not getting the paperwork from the breeder, thus not being able to show/breed the dog!
And given that you are working with an overseas breeder, that makes it much, much harder to get the papers.
Has the breeder said there is a problem with the papers? Most ethical breeders will ship the papers with the dog, or, if that's not possible, send them out very soon after.
And no, an imported dog will NOT have AKC paperwork. The new owner/importer has to apply to the AKC and show original copies of all German paperwork, plus most likely, the sire will have to be DNAd for proof of paternity. That's the procedure the breeder had to go through when I purchased a pup from an imported stud...and it took FOREVER! Well...nine months, actually!

Hello sunsilver,
No the dog is here in the states and the owner hasn't said he doesn't have the paperwork.I just wanted to know what to expect from him.
Not sure if you seen my other thread about me buying a pup got her passport papers but thats it so I've been after the person who I bought her off of about the paperwork well I did some digging and looks like paperwork won't be coming so he is either going to give me money back or he wanted to know if I would want her.

The answer is yes - they should have a score book for the Titles.......... and if OFA - they give a certificate as well as a cert#... not sure about SV - but I would assume the same of them........

She is not listed in the OFA database
Fina von Nimbus SV 2185562 ZW 88
I would expect to see both pedigrees the SV now shows trial scores on the back so there isn't always a scorebook. A scorebook from the American club if she's been shown or trialed here. If you are intending to breed, I'd also want to see her breeding book and or records....
She was bred to a German Dog in Germany, so she must have some kind of records. If she has a breed survey by a SV judge, they keep records and can help you to find out more info on her....
von nimbus.de website has been taken down or is not working at this time.

The scorebook with show and Schutzhund titles goes with the dog when sold. So if the dog was imported, the scorebook should be imported too and should be with the new owner. The "a" stamp is on the pink papers, so no extra documents except pink papers would be required to check that.
You should require your money back - sounds like the dog in question was either not a titled import or was a completely different dog...
