LOVE THY SHEPHERD

by LOVE THY SHEPHERD on 28 August 2011 - 22:08

I have a really nice litter of big boned, al sable pups.  I wanted to see some pics. of the
color changes they gothru.  If anyone has some pics. they can privately send me I would
appreciate it.  My male was so very light brown, with a black stripe down the back at
10 wks.  He turned into a very dark sable.

It's much easier to look at them when they're first born. That's typically the closest to their adult color. They all fade between 8-10-12wks and color comes back as their adult coat grows in, but they can change for nearly 2 years. Thus, the most accurate predictor is to compare the sables at birth.

Red collar  and the pink one shes kinda curved there to where her butt is touching red

but at birth you can tell the puppys colors my darkest sable was Green who when he was born for about 4 days i thought he was a black and brown and then his stripe became visable

but the rest like Fritz my red boy he was alot lighter than the rest the picture of the litter was the day they where born mother is still in labor in the picture had 3 more pups after those.

Love thy shepherd alias Donna, from d very first few days you'll be able to tell sables, either dark or light shades. As they grow they'll become lighter with the normal sable 'dark ridge stripe' that runs on the back to the tail. At adulthood, their real n final darker or light shade with shadowy dark strands of outer coat emerge from their slumber. That's sable 4 u. I think i've emailed this Donna in respect of purchasing a pup sometime ago. My regards.
