My Bitch has a False Pregnancy? She is 2 years old and OFA certify. Any body know how to get her ready for next heat so she will not get this again? Any positive answer will help.

Thanks,

Tino

All females go through something that can look like a false pregnancy. Some not noticeable and some moreso. Ever see them nesting just about 2 months after their cycle? Do they go off their food about a month after a cycle and sometimes look larger in the abdomen? Have you ever expressed fluid from their teats just about when they would have had pups? I am talking about non-bred bitches. Look closer next time. It's the effects of Progesterone which are normal after a heat cycle as they continue to rise. Some you will never notice and some are more obvious. I had one good vet tell me I was not losing my mind!

My Female dog had no Bacteria and I also did the pogesterone test on her 3 times the last one was on day 13 of heat and read 8.05 and put the dog on her on day 15 and 16 of heat.

If you have a Reproduction Specialist vet in your area, schedule an appointment now for a pre-breeding consultation so you will have a game plan and directions for breeding her on her next cycle and not miss any pertinent dates, tests or blood work, or pharmacy which may be necessary for optimal pregnancy success.
