Hey guys, here are some more pictures of "Osiris" (AKA "Little Dude"). The first pictures are just pictures of him from when he was younger, and the last pictures are the recent ones from a few days ago and today. I had some before four weeks, but I don't feel like searching through all of the files right now.
Almost four weeks
.jpg)
5 and 1/2 weeks

8 and 1/2 weeks

Not sure the date on this one, but it's sometime after the previous one.
.jpg)
Last week at 14 and 1/2 weeks. His coat changed. I think it'll get even darker as he gets bigger. It reminds me of the changing coat colors in sables with German Shepherds.

He was stalking his big brother right before I took this, and then charged him to go play. Also a few days ago.

Today aat 15 and 1/2 weeks. He weighed 23 lbs today. Almost time for a new collar, that one makes him look odd where his neck/back connect pushing the fur down.

A picture of Max

And the whole pack.

My little cousin got a husky puppy the other night. It made me think of you GSDguy. I was going to share this picture but my computer wouldnt upload it.
They surprised her! She has been wanting a puppy for a long time. She loves sled dogs...She says she is like a Balto dog!

Her name is Maddie....and it looks like they are gonna be the best of friends....

KellyJ, that's great that they got one. Do you know how old theirs is?
Oh my word though, Osiris struck his first kill tonight! He went to the back yard while all of the dogs were in the front with my nieces and I. He was sneaking around, and BAM he runs out with a furry critter in his mouth. It was a mole....which is good and bad. This guy is going to be an extreme hunter as an adult. From 7 weeks old, he was stalking birds, chasing them, chasing squirrels (obviously he can't get them at that age) and he was even stalking a hawk in the sky today. He would run around looking at it, wanting to kill it. I don't remember the other guys hunting like this at that age. Working with him today though, he is an excellent tracker. I'm going to start teaching him to track. He also shows great confidence anywhere we go now, vet included (We go there a lot just so he won't have any issues there like a lot of dogs tend to have like being afraid of the vet or dogs there. Today he went in, was pet by the vet and went right over to the scale for a weight. He walked in like he had done it a thousand times, his first two times at the vet in the past he was scared to death and barked at a dog statue haha). We visit people at Lowes a lot now as well, everyone there loves to see and pet my dogs, not to mention I like to bring joy to others who may be having a bad day or stressful day for whatever reason. They all enjoy it, and we talk for a while too.
Thanks for the compliments everyone. Though I named him Osiris, we still call him Little Dude. We'll probably always call him that, especially since we taught him to respond to that.

Great photos...Little Dude had changed a lot in his color...he is becoming one stunning looking dog...
Do they shed as bad as GSD's? Just looking at that tail makes me cringe..LOL...
It's nearly the end of summer and I am still dealing with chunks and rolling fur balls from my girls..my male is not as bad but the girls are shedding a year round....makes me want to pour gasoline along the chain link fence and burn it....it's that bad....

LadyFrost.....Do they shed as much as GSDs? Mine tend to shed a lot just when they're "blowing their coat". Mine shed somewhat even when they're not, but it's not really bad by any means thankfully. Max definitely has a really thick, fluffy tail lol. I'm anxious to see how the puppies coat turns out. It should end up getting thicker, somewhat longer as well like the adults when he gets that adult coat in. He resembles one of the puppies from the previous litter who ended up looking like a wolf once he got the adult coat in, and his head was shaped like Sierras, but as wide as Max's head. Beautiful looking dog, I'll definitely continue to post pictures of him as he gets bigger as well.

@GSDguy08-
Your dogs are really lovely and I always enjoy the photo updates that you post.
I read on another dog forum recently that huskies require a huge amount of exercise to keep them from driving you crazy. Do you find this? Do you have your dogs pull things (old tires, you on roller blades, carts, etc.)?
I took Senta swimming this week at a near-by conversation area and was completely stunned at how long, how far, and how fast a husky swam. It was pretty infuriating for his owner since the dog completely ignored her recalls; we watched for 20 minutes before we had to leave (the dog was still swimming, trying to catch the Canada geese in the lake).
Here's a picture- I'm sorry that my camera didn't have sufficient zoom to capture the image better (the dog was pretty far away). If you look in the red box, you can just see his head. :)

I find energy level for Huskies depends on the specific dog. In general as a breed they have a lot of energy, but with any breed you have some who are more medium level, some who are high, some who are just off the charts/make you want to pull your hair out lol. I had the advantage of being able to pick which ones I wanted since it was my litter. Buck the big brother, and Osiris/Little Dude are both from my litters and are very medium level in energy. When I evaluated the puppies that's something I wanted out of them. I looked for good food drive, medium level-ish energy, confidence, not dominant but not too submissive, etc etc and both Buck and Little Dude were pretty much the best two Huskies I could have asked for. When I say medium level, Buck can walk 3 miles a day, play with the other dogs, and be pretty relaxed after that. That's all he actually needs, same with the rest of the pack. I don't mind a high energy level dog, I just wanted to make sure I didn't get a high level for a Husky....then I would have to do cart pulling all the time, or 10 mile bike runs, etc etc. I do go biking with my dogs when it's not too hot. In the spring we went biking pretty much every day and we would do some walking as well just because I enjoy going for walks and getting outdoors (Despite my pale skin lol. I'm English, Austrian and German....I got the pale side of the English I suppose). We have the benefit of the subdivision that is right down our road though, full of steep long hills. I think that's why a 3 mile walk is sufficient for my dogs just because there are so many tall steep hills. The last one being a quarter mile long. I look forward to fall though when it cools down a little bit and we can bike again. That's a lot of fun to me, although I'm starting to get in shape more and more so I've started running lately as well. Each morning that I don't work (I work 12 hour shifts, Mon, Tues, Wed) now for the past two weeks I've been getting up at 5:30-6:30 and I go for a two mile walk with the whole pack, Little Dude included. Then when I get back to the house I work out, then I eat a little bit, and take Buck running for a mile with me. Being we have the hills, I can't fully jog/run the whole thing yet, but we got under 12 minutes on the mile run this morning and the one I did tonight. I thought that was good considering the hills. My goal is to be able to run two miles without stopping or walking by mid fall. Now if we were on flat level ground.....it wouldn't be hard to do at all.
Your friend sounds like the typical Husky owners I meet lol. I say that as in, most people, and trainers have trouble training their Huskies to even listen to them. They are deemed stubborn, stupid, not smart, and un trainable by many. Then people see me with mine and see how well trained I've gotten them to be and they just can't believe it. I'm not trying to boost my ego saying that, or saying I'm better than anyone, but I've really learned how to work with pretty much any Husky. I can walk the adults off leash if I want to and they all follow (I use to just drop the leashes and do that in the past when their weren't so many dogs running into the middle of the street) Mine know and listen to many commands, they're social, well behaved in public, and I've also taught them not to listen to strangers commands. Not to mention no matter where we are or what they're doing, if I call them to me, they come. I've never used e collars or anything like that to train them either (something a lot of people think you have to use on them). Your friends Husky likes to swim though, that's pretty cool. The only one of mine who even likes water is Little Dude. He will pla
