Being hot and extra lazy, yesterday I tried something different to exercise Prince...

He hates the lawn tractor, so I figured I could accomplish two things at once. I expected him to run along side the tractor ( without tearing off the tires )...He had his ball clenched in his teeth as if to be taking out his frustration not being allowed to attack the mower...lol.lol..

We ran all over the yard ( actually Prince ran all over the yard..lol..)...We practiced heeling, sits and downs next to the tractor too...The best part about it, is all I had to do was sit on my lazy butt...If I could manage holding my glass of wine too I would be set...lol...: )

I used to work with a guy who was trying to decide what brand lawn tractor to buy. He kept talking about it for weeks. He was constantly going over different features asking our advice. One day he came in and said he finally bought a new tractor. I asked him what features it had that made him select it. His awswer was it's the only one I saw with a CUP HOLDER.

I had been to the casino a few times with him, so I knew he wasn't lying.

Mine has a cup holder--it's a Bolens--tho as a rule I use it to put my smokes and lighter in. I leave my drink on the patio and as I do a section of the yard I stop and take a drink. And Ruger I ride mine around sometimes too just to get the dogs to run more. Too bad I couldn't ride that sucker in the show ring I'd show em how to gait a dog!!!!!

BTW....you can buy cup holders that clamp on to bike handle bars........there has to be some place you could clamp it on to the tractor

I have 4 Dogs, 3 being GSD's. Whenever I cut the grass, (2 acres) my 9 month old Capri will walk on left side of mower, (opposite of discharge) and go ahead before turn around and continue back and forth for about a half hour. Then she watch's awhile and will do a row or 2 when she want's. It's a riot. And I have a crappy cup holder, to shallow, always falls over. LOL   Pete

I am glad to see that others do this too...; )

I am not brave enough to turn the blades on and actually cut the grass...Between the leash, the steering wheel and my glass of wine, I don't think I could juggle all of it lol....It's a good thing I don't smoke too...lol..

vonissk...I do enjoy watching Prince gait...It's kind of like lunging a horse...

I think I will invest in a cup holder...lol..thanks for the comments...: )

When I cut the grass my boy aka Mr Wonderful LOL runs alongside on my left side too. Somehow he knows to stay away from the discharge side. He stays right with me and if there is a toy I failed to pick up I tell him to get it for me and he does. He might not take it far but he generally takes to the cut grass. When Mauli was a baby as soon as I would start the mower she would come over and climb on the deck and I would go real slow with her.  You said you couldn't juggle everything if you smoked--if I drank wine neither could I!!!!!!I'd probably wreck my mower and kill the fence!!!!!!

lol nice.  I have no lawn mower chasers here thankfully.  My Huskies pay absolutely no attention to it when we're mowing or doing any yard work, so I've been pushing myself lately to get up even earlier to get their exercise.  We went walking at 530 this morning for a few miles, and then I let them run around the yard and play after that.  I'm really looking forward to fall when it's not so hot, so early.

My lazy time I ride my daughter's beach cruiser. I feel l ike I am cheating as I can ride all day. Athena gets a good run but I prefer to run/walk with her. I end up taking breaks and playing fetch when I come to empty fields to make sure she doesnt have any stored energy.
