The video below is a combined effort of Angelo Lombardi the owner of
Bed & Biscuit Pet Resort located: Prescott, Arizona.
And Dragon German Shepherds, Melanie Drew.

How to gain control of behavior issues through
training and desensitizing practices for dogs.

This is a very important video for dog owners to
view as we believe dogs should have forever homes.

It's only 14 min.

We do many different types of desensitizing exercises with our dogs, yet I cannot see the relevance of acclimating them to a welding helmet.

No person or animal should ever be exposed to a Welding Flash without protective eye wear. Does this mean that he frequently welds around his dogs and subjects them to welding flash? Which by the way is extremely painful.

That was enough of the video for me.

No, he does not subject the dogs to any danger, not sure why you would think that way?
He even mentions it's not good for the dogs to be too close.

Whether it be a welder's helmet or a cowboy hat (gas mask)  it is good practice to subject dogs to
different objects so they are not surprised later on..........

I stomached it until the "doggie socialization" part.  Personally I don't believe in having packs of dogs indiscriminately "socialize".  My dogs have been brought into a human world and human environment, they already know how to act in a dog/pack world.  I don't own pets, I suppose if I did it wouldn't be important for me to have my dogs enjoy their work and they could look as sad as the dogs in that video.  Eww eww eww, my eyes hurt, I couldn't watch any more.  I guess if I wanted to raise/train dogs for junk yards, I'd have to get them used to welding equipment but I have no welding units in my "living" area where I "live" and where my dog "lives" where he would "personally" protect me.  If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Many people have dog agressive dogs, it is nice if your dogs get along with each other.

Sadly many people have dogs that don't and we are showing they can tolerate each
other with some social trainning.

Many dogs end up being PTS for the issues we are trying address so maybe a
few dogs will be spared.

No junk yard by the way.

So that's the "let 'em get it out of their system" method?  The "kill 'em all and let God sort them out" philosophy?

Didn't see any dog being harmed in anyway, not to mention they were all being
supervised.
Just a few dogs having fun together!

Aren't they cute, do you sell bandanas to your guests?  Maybe you can have matching shirts and hats for "their" humans.  Why not be truthful in your video and explain to people that this type of training is for pets and pets that are going to be left in day care facilities where they can be picked on by the pack bully and possibly come home scarred physically or emotionally not to mention picking up a virus or infection.  But dog training is all about the owners having fun,,,,, and tea, and doll parties.  What a country.

I'm sorry someone peed on your pancakes.

This video if you had watched it, is for everyone from working dogs to
family dogs. It is a way to work through issues dogs may have so that people
are happy to own and keep their dogs.

by Duderino on 28 July 2011 - 03:07

No, it's for pet training or if you're idea of a working dog is to have a dog that just hangs out with you and walks everywhere with it's head down 'cuz it's bored stiff.
