Apparently you have to ASK your butcher for "left over trimmings" otherwise they will never tell you about it on their own..I bought 2 bags = over 40 pounds for under $21.00 .....they refer to it as meatsickles.

@Ace -
Ah, I take it your older dog finally got tired of your neediness and moved out if you are looking for company on the internet. My condolences - being dumped sucks.

LMAO!!!

He decided that he wants to work things out.  More quality time together MIGHT work as I believe there was some jealousy involved.

Let's get this post back on the ground. Never thought of asking butcher for scrapes. I'm getting all my Raw for .75 a Lb. But in these hot months I always feed part frozen. They love it. They are eating a ton, I mean a ton of ice. Is that ok? Maybe I'll post to ask. I didn't think so. But it wouldn't be the first I was off.  Great idea Ladyfrost.      Pete

Pete...i dont see anything wrong with giving them ice...i even dump my ice from freezer bucket into their kiddy pool and not only do they have fun playing and chasing ice in the water it keeps water from becoming luke warm....on really hot days 10 pound bag of ice for $2.00 to give my dogs about 30 min of fun is totally worth it!

P.S.....i don't know why butchers do not volunteer that info, especially if they know i am buying things for dogs..i guess they rather i spend $90.00 for 40 pounds of bones or chicken than $20.00 for 40 pounds of grounded beef, fat trimmings, scraps....

Where the hell are you going that you pay $20 for 40 lbs of ground beef??
I pay $30 for 40lbs of chicken backs.
I can find ground beef for $2.49/lb

I feel like im getting robbed compared to you.

BTW...I prefer convos being in the gutter.

Ace952 then take it to a site were dirty talk is accepted or to pm's. And please quit hi-jacking threads to get your rocks off.

Ace, it is not just grounded beef, although one bag was mostly just that....they grind: fat, cartilage, skin, trimmed off meat (beef/pork) left over steaks that did not sell on time mix it together and freeze it.

Like i said in first post they do not tell you about it (no idea why), you have to ask for it, I was told of it by one of the customers as he was walking out while i was still picking out cheaper bones...he said "ask for the trimmings that are left, they got about 500 pounds in the freezer...dog meatsickles" ... guy behind the counter heard us and before i even asked brought out 2 bags, bags were a solid mass i asked if he can slice it for me, he did one bag was $13.00 already priced, the other was $9.00...together they were 38.7 pounds.

find a butcher and ask...what do you got to loose?
