ATLANTA (AP) - A McDonald's manager in the Atlanta area is accused of punching a mother after she brought her autistic children and a service dog inside the restaurant, authorities said.
Tiffany Denise Allen is charged with simple battery, simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to a Cobb County warrant.
Jennifer Schwenker entered the McDonald's in Marietta with her twins and service dog on July 12. Allen, who was off-duty at the time, became angry that the dog was inside, the warrant states. Police say Allen followed the mother around the restaurant, then punched her in the face in the parking lot.
Surveillance video shows McDonald's employees trying to restrain their co-worker, police wrote in the warrant.
J.M. and Jan Owens, who operate the store on Bells Ferry Road, said they're cooperating with police.
"At our McDonald's restaurant, we respect and value our customers. Their safety and well-being is always a top priority," they said in a statement to The Associated Press.
"We strive to comply with all applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act," they said. "It is our policy to make our restaurants accessible to all customers, including those with disabilities and special needs, whether or not they need the assistance of service animals."
A phone listing for Allen could not be located. McDonald's officials say that she is no longer employed by the Oak Brook, Ill.-based company.

There is more to this story or more to this lady's mental or emotional issues. If that is what happened she has a track record of these type of things and I am sure she is very unstable. Probably other issues at work place that went un-checked. I hope the family is not too scarred. For most kids Mcdonalds is like heaven.

This is not MacDonald's policies being carried out. It is local restaurants in urban areas. They hire what is available. Atlanta in many ways, is just another urban hell hole.
Very, very sad.

A police officer locally told a service dog owner (again retired from the service) that while he was talking to the owner (of the service dog) he had to put his service dog away cause his K9 was acting aggressively towards it (which was in the drive way in the truck).
So it just shows that many are not briefed on the rights of service dogs

a brave Customer would have intervened and kicked a few Butts, no way would i stand by and see that happen, The clever Bas----s would have thought there world had ended
However whoever did phone saved the person more of a beating.
I had that once in the main street when i was young in Newbury Berkshire, a Guy knocking his girl friend about in broad daylight i could not believe it, no one helped the girl at all I said cut it out and he replied, so i did a good job on him a little by little he was on his knees blubbing away like a baby but he then got one final one that put him to sleep, I was taken to court and into custody by the police but the Judge let me off when they saw the photos of what he had done to his girl friend,
Me i cannot stand to walk by such incidents i would never forgive myself

Except this was a woman on woman fight. A man intervening on either behalf would be opening himself up to a class action suit.
