In the Country where you live, or the area where you live, are dogs banned from certain places? As this 'Ban the dog' attitude increased? Are dogs also welcome in places too?
In the UK, it is most common that dogs will not be allowed in most Shops or eating establishments. There are certain Beaches where dogs are not allowed at any time, but may use in the Autumn/Winter time.
Thankfully dogs and Owners can use the vast majority of woodland and Parks most anywhere. They may also be off leash.
Also we have a good selection of Pubs where dogs can actually come into the Pub (including the eating area) along with their Owners.
I understand that in France dogs are welcome everywhere.
I feel grateful and appreciate the freedom to walk our dogs (on or off leash) in such a large selection of Parks and Woodlands.

Vixen

As much as I love animals I would NOT want to go out for a meal to any eating establishment if there were dogs allowed in it, had that experience , never again.

In my state in the US, we have health codes that prohibit dogs who are not service animals from being at indoor eating areas. In the town I live in, ALL dogs are prohibited from all city parks at all times, so I don't even use the local parks that I help fund. It stinks.

Here in some parts of Florida, dogs listed on the "dangerous breed" list put out by the insurance commission are not allowed in rental homes if the landlord wants to maintain insurance on the property. I had a heck of a time finding a rental house with my GSDs and was told this interesting tidbit. Now I have been informed that if the dogs in question "physically resemble" dogs on the list, the owners will be denied the rental home.
We have restaraunts that have tables outside in St Armand's Circle and other areas where dogs are allowed to accompany their owners as long as the dogs are well behaved. We also have an area of the intercostal that allows dogs to play in the water as long as owners pick up after their dogs (which unfortunately is not happening so we may lose that spot to take our dogs).

We went to Sandy Hook on Saturday, an island beach park in New Jersey that is a National Park. No dogs allowed on any swimming beach (ocean side), on or off leash, but dogs were allowed on the bay beaches. Now that I know that, I will take my dogs there........I've been looking for somewhere to take them. Near me there's a state park with a large reservour that has a field reserved for dogs, on or off leash. But that's an exception. Not many places allow dogs around here. jackie harris

The only stores that allow dogs in my hometown are PetSmart, PetCo, Lowe's, and Home Depot.
