Mystere

Does anyone know of a good source for NICE  pet  urns for  larger dogs' ashes that are also reasonably/realistically prices?   All the ones I like seem to be for small dogs, or they are too silly-looking.   The ones I really like are art glass and beautiful, but run about $700-1300--not happening.

My brother made a beautiful wooden box, the grain of the wood was used as decoration and it is perfect for Loki's ashes.  He also made one for his fiance's ashes when she was cremated.  I guess it would depend upon where you are planning on keeping the ashes.  My friend had her dog's ashes cast into a glass globe on a wooden pedestal that gently lit the globe from underneath, at first it sounded rather bad but turned out kind of nice.

Check out http://www.rugpalnorth.com/wood.htm  Mikey can do other styles also, you might contact her to see what other options she has.  I've seen ones with engraved granite inlay and some other interesting options.  I like though that they are personalized.  And the prices are a lot better than what you have been looking at.

This is way off topic but Mystere, I don't know if you're looking for one for yourself or for someone, and I won't ask any questions about it either. I just want to know that I'm deeply sorry, and to my full condolences to you and to your family, if this is for your dog.

WOW malndobe! Those are neat! I'm saving this link for future searches (Which I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon!) Do you know a place that sells human urns that are designed exactly like this?

Mystere.........  when my 2 boys were cremated my vet handled all for ashes. I received a nice sculptured urn with an engravement plate with dogs name on it. Also a card from Rainbow Bridge. This was all included with the price of the cremation. Because I had lost another dog 9 months earlier my vet charged me only $100 which included all when I lost Manny.  VB

http://www.petcemetery.org/products/urns/index.php

I bought a plain wooden box there with a gold clasp, at $25.00, and it is very nice.  You can add an engraved plate to the front of it.  It's not on the site though as it's from what they call their "Cheaper line".  If you want a photo, I can take one so you can see it.

I would suggest contacting Mikey, the owner of the site.  I'm sure she can get larger boxes for humans, they may even fit in the boxes she has for larger dogs, I don't know.
