Young German shepherd Triton needs our help - Page 1

Triton was brought in to Miami Dade Animal Services on 6/12/11. Triton was hit by a car and is unable to stand. Triton has maggots all over him and he has had to have a blood transfusion. The shelter estimates that Triton is around 4 years young.

This boy has a lot of life left in him if we can get the vetting for him he deserves. Elissa Powers has rushed to MDAS to pull him and he will be going to the vet's asap.

We are starting the chip-in for $1,000.00 as we know that his medical bills are going to be quite high. We, in the rescue community can not continue to help dogs like Triton without your continued support. Triton will NOT WIND UP STUCK IN BOARDING - he will be going to a foster after we have him vetted.

This is an emergency.....this dog can not stand up - please help us to help him!!!!!

We will be providing regular updates on Triton and we will provide the name and telephone number of the vet for those of you who would prefer to donate directly to the vet.

Poor thing.  I forwarded the link to some friends who might be able to help with a donation.

This dog need to get out of this high kill shelter and then to a vets office that handles these kind of situations. I tried mentioning about the vets office that I've recently started taking my animals to the group that I belong on facebook. Often times they do volunteer work for shelter dogs. It would be perfect.

I thought that in the original post, the person who hit the dog was going to adopt him if the owner didn't show up?

That is if the current owners of this dog come to, which I seriously doubt. The dog was full of fleas and had maggots on him. That is a clear sign of animal abuse by neglection. Theirs absoulety no reason why this dog should be loaded with fleas, especially being attacked by maggots none of the less.

I am certain that theirs going to be an investigation as of why the dog was full of fleas, and why theirs maggots on the dog, and the most important is why was the dog running freely that cause him to get run over.

I don't know what is currently going on other then to hear what gets put on facebook.

Miami Dade Animal Services isn't a very nice place to be in if you happen to be a dog. They're quite known to put dogs to sleep within the first 24 hours of being there.

This really Sucks. Can you please keep us updated. Our prayers are with Triton.
