West Midlands Schutzhund Club proudly presents… TheBernhard Flinks – Police & Schutzhund Seminar/Workshop August 2011
Bernhard Flinks was born and grew up in Borken / Westphalia, Germany and this is where he began schutzhund sport with his first dog Blitz vom Sternbusch. He graduated as a police officer in 1976 and in 1981 he moved to the state of Schleswig-Holstein and joined the location group of Hanerau Hadmarschen. In 1986 Bernhard founded the German Shepherd location group OG Pahlen and to this day he is still the chairman, instructor and one of the helpers.
After 10 years as a serving police officer, Bernhard attended police training school for dog handlers with his own dog Ingo Vom Sternbusch. In 1989, he bought Packo vom Höllbachgrund and simultaneously trained him for schutzhund sport and as a police dog.
In 1994 Bernhard & Packo scored 99 points in schutzdienst and in the following year, they qualified for two FCI world championships and the WUSV world championship in Budapest, along with competing in several police championships. Bernhard has handled many police dogs including Itor Op de Hyde and most recently the very dominant & aggressive male Fels von der Schiffslache.
Since 1995 he has been teaching seminars in Germany. He now travels all around the world, teaching schutzhund, helper & decoy work in addition to his police dogs and law enforcement agency seminars and workshops.

The first day will be dedicated to obedience and the remaining 2 days will focus mainly on bite work, calm grips and drive.
The cost with one dog per day will be £65 and for spectators is £30pp per day; this includes a selection of hot and cold drinks and a choice of hot food on Friday and Saturday, and a cold packed lunch will be provided on Sunday.
Places for dogs are limited to a maximum of 12 per day and will be based on a first come first served basis and on completion of a booking form along with full payment by 1st July. Cheques should be made payable to West Midlands Schutzhund Club (WMSC)
