Dear Dog lovers,
I love GSDs and i live in Cairo. After months of research, i decided to buy a high quality GSD female, budget was not an issue. I was referred to some well known breeders in Germany. After email exchanges i settled on one well known breeder offering a pup out of a very well sired litter. Pedigree included mostly VAs specially from the Sires side. It includes dogs such as Vegas du haut Mansard , Pakros D'ulmental etc as grand father and great grandfather respectively and there are more famous dogs as well. In order for me to ensure receiving the best puppy, i also paid in advance and was promised pick of the litter (this option was later restricted to selecting only females) and help in choosing the best.
3 months ago i finally received my 3 month old female from Germany and found the following: 1. Pink streak in her nose 2,Ugly tail (bent side ways from the end) 3, smallish size 4, strong candidate for cow hocks.
I immediately contacted the breeder via email and highlighted amongst other things the above. He replied on all other things but nothing on the above mentioned faults. I persisted, finally he asked me to send a movie - i did. He still is not replying on these faults it is now 3 months!!
The pup cost me around 2000 Euros, (cost + transportation etc) I knew the cost but then i wanted the best!
It is obvious that i was deliberated cheated by this breeder. I now want to a) make sure that acts of this breeder are well know to the rest of the world so that he does not fool any one else and b) want to return the dog back to him and buy another pup from some one else.
Questions:
1. Are there any forums where i can register official complaints against the breeder where actions will be taken.
2. Which forums to use where the name of this breeder along with pics of my dog can be made public.
Views from other dog lovers will help, thank you.

Sorry this happened to you but you should have known when you paid 2000 Euro for a pup from Germany. Maybe talk to the person that refered you.

Dear Bhall,
You are absolutely right!
All trusted persons were involved and the breeder has a well known kennel and also appeared to have good reputation as an individual - one has to trust at some point, i guess!

mansrana, you can put a complaint here http://www.ripoffreport.com/Login.aspx?returnUrl=/FileReport.aspx. Probably won't help you, but may help others in the future.
There are no rules here that prevent you posting pics of your pup, with name and breeder. You don't have to "bash" the breeder to do this. Just let the pics speak for themselves.

2000 euros including shipping (as the original poster said) is not an excessive price for a pup from Germany.
Very sad that the breeder did not deal with you honestly. I agree with the suggestion of posting her picture, registered (kennel name), and pedigree here.

1. Pink streak in her nose 2,Ugly tail (bent side ways from the end) 3, smallish size 4, strong candidate for cow hocks.
1. may be lacking some vitamin D (?), cant say much w/o seeing it....
2. tail bent sideway - not uncommon, do search and you will find few threads on the subject, from my understanding that it is not abnormal to a degree and once dog is full grown tail centers and is not an issue
3. smallish size...what is the size? weight? dogs grow/mature up till age of 3, slower grower = better bone development...so far your dog is only 6 months, she can double her size within next year.
4. cow hocks...not all lost, as she grows there is a high probability they straighten out...mine had it pretty bad at 7 months not sure when but looking at my male now he has perfectly straight hind legs, no issues what so ever..give her time to grow up.
i think posting a photo would help a lot...you wanted a perfect dog, if she got great temperment, and good drive she may be a perfect dog...all she needs is time..besides 6 month old puppies usually hit "teenage"/ugly phase and are very awkward...
(sorry about spelling, i cant run spell check and when i type its blank for some reason until i hit "submit"..i think my computer is slowly dying)

Sorry, but 2000 Euro incl. shipping is too expensive

Please post a picture of the puppy. Her height and weight. A pink streak on the nose could be a winter nose which does go away OR she could be eating out of a plastic dish which will also take the color out of some noses. Just want to see what we are talking about here. Nothing that was listed there would set off red flags to me at this point. Yup 2000 Euro is way too much. Doesnt matter if she is gold plated however if the breeer gets that much then who am I to judge. Can we have a look see?

2000 euros is no more ridiculous than the $3000+ price, that many breeders here in the USA charge for their puppies.
If a person is willing to pay such a price.....the breeder's will sell at such a price.
I'm amazed daily at many of the prices some breeders command for their puppies....but more amazed, on how many people actually PAY the price.

I agree with LadyFrost, your list of complaints about the pup is not enough to indicate the breeder is a bad breeder.
The majority of showline puppies have cowhocks, a tail hooking right or left at the end is very common (a minor fault, but all dogs have minor faults). Smallish size, what is your definition of small size? An adult female GSD is still within breed standard if she is only 22 inches tall at the shoulders and weighs 50 lbs. Pink on the nose...like she had a scratch on her nose that healed but stayed pink? or a nose that is faded in color, particularly in the middle? Again, minor to moderate fault but doesn't affect her health, structure or temperament.
All of the things that you listed she could possibly grow out of. None of them indicate that she is a bad dog or was raised badly.
As for the price, well....It's a price that most unknown, beginner people get. Price does not automatically mean best show quality dog. Many "designer" mix breeds sell for more money than purebreeds, so what does that say?
The only way you are going to get what you want is to go and see the dogs and puppies in person and purchase the one you like best, if it's for sale.
