Hi Guys,

I want to get medical and loss of use insurance for my new SAR trainee.

Do you guys have any recommendations for companies?

Also, I've never carried animal insurance before is it expensive?

Any advice and input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

C

Clc29, I have petplan insurance and for my puppy $200 deductable Up to $8,000 90% reimbursement =$271 per year For my 6 y/o GSD it is about $425 you can pay monthly or yearly, you have to pay vet bill up front and they will reimburse you. There are different plans, different deductibles and different reimbursement amounts. If you refer friends you can receive $25 gift cards, which you can use for whatever. The plan I bought is the bronze plan. The website breaks it down for you except the cost and you can get an idea of the cost by what I posted. Price also goes by area I think as well. I know that breed and age determines part of the cost. I hope that is helpful. Take care, Jennifer

Clee27,

Thanks a whole bunch for the detailed information.

It's not as expensive as I had expected.

That helped me a lot.

Take care,

Cheri

getting pet insurance will drive the cost of medical care thu the roof for everyone.......boycot it.

Rly? How do you figure that, SitasMom?

look what health insurance has done, look what dental insurance has done.

doctors and dentists are forced to employ people specifically to do battle with the insurance companies in order to be paid - extra costs for them = extra costs for us........

vets will still get their pay, but you, me and everyone else will be paying for the vet AND the insurance company too.

Just to clarify, the petplan and vet have no interaction. You go to the vet and pay your bill in full. Afterwards you submit the charges to petplan and they reimburse you whatever amount. There is no interaction between the vet and petplan whatsoever. Maybe that helps. Take care, Jennifer

still we will all end up paying more.......

Never take any kind of insurance. Leave alone for the dogs not for yourself. If you die or anything that happens to you. That is destiny and accept it. Its your Karmic cycle. Insurance preys on the fear aspect of humans. Don't be afraid. Get over your fears and nothing will happen to you or your dear ones. Its all messing with your minds don't fall into the corporate agenda

good luck!!!
