Hi Everyone,
I am shopping for a crate for my SUV and of course want a good deal.
I currently have a portable wire 21" w x 36"l x 24"t with an end door. Not sure this will be big enough for a full grown GSD.
I would really like to have one with a side door instead.
I would appreciate any info. on where you purchased yours, who the manufacturer is and what size you prefer.
Thanks.

Try EBAY. I got a steal on 4 XL wire crates. Side, top, and end doors on each

Thanks BearDog,
I should of thought of that, since you can buy almost anything on there now.

Try your local Craigslist.
Personally, I like plastic kennels for the car. Wire ones are very noisy! Of course you can't see through the plastic ones, so it's a trade-off.

I cut down on crate rattle by using nylon wire ties where all of the sides meet. Top, ends, and sides. about 3 ties to each. I also take rubber hook straps and pull the crates together in the back of the vehicle or tie them to the floor cargo loops too.
I rarely break crates back down flat again but if I need to I can take wire cutters and cut the wire ties.
