i have a 6month old black german shepherd which arrived over a month ago. she is a really nice, smart dog that has a super ball drive. she learns quickly but the only thing i cant make her to do is to stop barking at other people other than us in the household. i mean she really barks at strangers angrily and i think if given the chance, she would bite. she is only a puppy at 6 mos, but why do you think she acts this way? here is she .    http://cdn.pedigreedatabase.com/pictures/672055.jpg

Wow, she's growing fast! A few hours ago, she was 5 months old when you asked about potty training.

Don Corleone, this is a different dog. The 5 month old shepherd is Olivia Vom Mystical haus. you can see her here in this site. thanks

Ohh! You have your hands full! You're very brave too! Two females of the same age, at the same time. I'm sure it will be worth it in a few months when they are ready to breed. You must love them "black shepherds, eh?

by Schaferhunden on 27 January 2011 - 13:01

the dog could have been bred for this.Check the pedigree

i'm kinda new to shepherds don corleone. i have boxers before. here in the philippines, black shepherds are not common so i chose black shepherds to raise. am i heading into some kind of trouble in the future? please educate me. i decided to get two at the same time so i can compare their temperaments. since i'm new to gsds, i cant predict what they would become when they mature. i thought that if one didn't have what it takes to be in a dog sport, maybe the other one would. that is what i think will happen. the older one i think has greater nerves while the younger one is very sweet and just loves everyone even strangers

Schaferhunden, as i've said i'm new to Gsd, can you explain what you saw in her pedigree? who among the ancestors have this kind of temperament? thanks

by Schaferhunden on 27 January 2011 - 13:01

I did not see the pedigree. There can be bloodline that give the traits you are seeing. Can you post the pedigree

by Wildwings on 27 January 2011 - 13:01

I am sure you will get more opinions on the board. I would say this pedigree can give you working dogs that may have strong protective traits.Did you ask the breeder for this type of dog? or did they just sell you a puppy with out giving you the back ground details. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/pedigree/672055.html
